Although Messinger Bearings is well known in the aggregate, paper, and steel industries, we also offer extensive experience in the electric utility market, specifically with coal-fired power plants.

The demand for coal energy is growing as the cost of other forms of fossil energy rises. This, in turn, means a greater demand for the large thrust roller bearings typically found in the gearboxes of coal pulverizer units at electric utility plants. Some of these gearboxes require bearings as large as 54” in outer diameter (O.D.).

Messinger has specialized in the manufacture of these bearings for decades and maintains an extensive library of engineering drawings.
